SOCIAL WORK

Sustainability of ATC Hall

The colored balls represent the SDGs goals that ATC worked on in 2020, and their size is proportional to the number of goal marks of the efforts.

At ATC Hall, we are involved in carbon offsetting, waste, carbon dioxide reduction, geothermal energy, disaster prevention training, and cleaning activities.
In order to solve the global warming problem based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations, and to contribute to the development of the local community, all employees are working together to continue various improvement activities.

Examples of Environmental Conservation Initiatives

01

Using seawater
Improving energy efficiency

Taking advantage of our location in the bay area, we use seawater from the Nanko Port, pumped from the seawater plant in the basement of the ATC building, as our heat source water and cooling water.
The seawater is treated at the Nanko Heat Supply Center plant and used to improve the energy efficiency of nearby hotels, office buildings, and the ATC building.

02

For electric vehicles
Installing EV chargers

A number of EV chargers have been installed in the ATC Building No. 1 Parking Lot, contributing to the promotion of clean energy cars.

03

Assuming a Nankai Trough earthquake
Regular training

The Nankai Trough stretches from Suruga Bay to the offshore Hyuga Sea. It is said that the possibility of a massive earthquake occurring with this as its epicenter is increasing.
In order to protect the lives of people, including visitors, we regularly conduct drills in cooperation with relevant organizations, simulating a Nankai Trough earthquake. We conduct drills simulating emergency situations, from assessing the situation to leading evacuations and transporting injured people.

Osaka Bay Area MICE

Diverse Facility Partnerships

The Osaka Bay Area is a city resort overlooking Osaka Bay, with large-scale event facilities, conference halls, hotels, restaurants, and comprehensive shopping complexes.
Equipped with all the functions necessary for hosting MICE, it supports business globally.

What we aim for is a sustainable MICE industry.

To fulfill our social responsibility, we, the members of Bay Area MICE, have developed a Sustainable Action Statement to address how we can incorporate the SDGs into our MICE business and become a sustainable venue of choice for the future.

Taking action and applying it to your MICE business, where do you start?

Under the supervision of Professor Hanamura, who is also a judge for Eco Action 21, we will redefine the challenges facing MICE facilities in the Osaka Bay Area from the perspective of the SDGs, and initially narrow them down to four actions based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

From Osaka Bay Area MICE
Determination to change the world.

We aim to be the most advanced MICE complex in the world, and will continue to take on the challenge of achieving the SDGs through MICE events. We will actively ask organizers, exhibitors, visitors, and guests for their understanding and cooperation in our efforts. We believe that even small actions, taken together, can change the world.
